We are waiting for you!

If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute to a school and be part in an authentic African village, look no further!

You do not need to be a teacher to come and help us at Simoonga Thandizani Trust school!

All we need from you is your open heart and some skills that can benefit the children and/or the operation of our school.

Volunteers are free to stay with us for their comfortable period of time.

The school kindly requests volunteers to help us with a small contribution of $10 per night for accommodation. This contribution goes towards children's education.

Related to the coordination of the meals, free Zambian lunch is provided to volunteers on school days while breakfast and dinner are organized by volunteers.

Volunteers are very welcome to fundraise for the school through family and friends.

Volunteers work alongside teachers in the classrooms and when doing co-curricular activities. The school day is from 07:30 to 15:30; mornings for teaching and learning, and afternoons for co-curricular programs, such as sports, art, chess, singing and dancing and eco.

Weekends are free for volunteers to do personal activities such as the Mighty Victoria Falls Tour, game park, museum, river cruise, shopping and visiting local markets and spending time with the local people and get to learn more about the Zambian way of life.

What is a day at Simoonga school like?

Our school day begins at 07:30 and finishes at 15:30. Break time is from 10:00 to 10:30 and lessons then resume until 12:30, when lunch time starts. Lessons resumens at 14:00 until 15:30.

As a volunteer you dedicate your time to the school and the children. Afternoon once classes have ended, Saturday and Sunday are free time.

We can't wait to meet you!
